A thick mist lay over the estepa of the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata this morning ….
…. but the sun soon burnt this off and clear blue skies promised another beautiful day.
We headed for the beach, El Playazo de Rodalquilar which, despite the fine weather, was strangely quiet for a Sunday.
You can park right by the far end of the beach were there are rock pools and sand inlets perfect for swimming.
In one of these we discovered an octopus.
We managed to get a couple photos before it slid away into a crack in the rocks.
As high season is over there were quite a few dogs on the beach. This is a Spanish Perro de Agua (water dog) enjoying a swim with its owner. They were originally bred for the same purpose as Spaniels which the Spanish also call Perros de Agua.
