At the southern end of the beach, El Playazo de Rodalquilar, volcanic rock spills out to sea and here rock pools have formed.
The geology of the volcanic coast of the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata is fascinating because of the different colours and variety of rocks and the shapes they form.
