They say it is difficult to find tradesmen in remote areas of Spain. Our generator has been playing up this week but fortunately we had been given the number of a mechanic who lives in the hippy commune, El Bornos, nearby which we have already blogged about. Moments after the phone call a rickety 33 year old Citroen Dyane van trundled down our track. Its hirsute owner soon set to work on the generator. We asked him if he would like a coffee. He replied “I am German. Work first, coffee later”. He completely stripped and reassembled the carburetor and refused to charge. “We are neighbours” he said.
