Making the most of the fine weather, we are continuing our exploration of beaches of the Cabo de Gata. This morning we headed for Cala del Plomo, a bay we have never visited before, which is signposted on the road between Fernan Perez and Agua Amarga. From here you have to drive down an unmade track for 7km before you arrive at the beach.
There are better and more accessible beaches on the Cabo de Gata but Cala del Plomo seems quite popular and this may be because, judging from the amount of camper vans behind it, of the attraction of free camping.
There was quite a lot of surf here which, after days of swimming in calm seas, made a change and also offered dramatic pictures of waves breaking against the rocks..
