Digby walked up to the top of our hill this morning hoping to find the owner of the land where the Mitsubishi crashed. He came across him and a group of workers harvesting the olives. As you can see from the photo, branch vibrators are used to shake the olives off the trees onto nets laid around the trunks. On hilly ground stakes are used to raise the bottom of the nets to prevent the olives rolling away. Antonio, the owner of the land, stopped work and kindly offered to extract the Mitsubishi from the gully with his tractor. Unfortunately the ground was too muddy. He will try again when the ground is drier and in the meantime Digby will need to dig away some of the earth behind the wheels of the car.
